This is a group art project my class did last year. The goal was to recreate Gauguin's painting, Miraculous Source, with each student having a section of the painting to complete. I cut up a small version of the painting, so each student had the exact part they were to recreate. I made an outline drawing, with chalk, on black paper using my projector. The chalk drawing was cut up just like the small version of the painting. Students worked with chalk pastels. When they finished, we put all the pieces together. A shout out to Ms. Andersen for a great idea, and to Mr. Cotter for taking the pictures!

The final product looks great!

Ms. Andersen had a great idea for Cedar Grove's Christmas concert backdrop. The students were       inspired by the book Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner. Not all of the students' work fit on the stage, so we displayed the rest of the pictures around the gym. (Just click on the photos to enlarge)

I really like this picture. I love the dog jumping at the snowball and the expressions on the faces of the snowmen. It is a bit impressionistic and has a bit of Van Gogh going on too.

This is a really great snowman! It makes me think of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

This snowman could be on a Christmas card.

Here are the rest of the fabulous snowmen!
